Sacraments have the three jobs of making people holy, building up the Body of Christ, and giving worship to God. They teach us about our faith and are signs of God's love for his church. Sacraments of Initiation bring us into full membership in the Church, Sacraments of Healing restore our relationship with God and Sacraments of Mission and Service strengthen our vocation from God.
All sacraments have seven components: Form: words and actions given to us by Christ that do not change Matter: tangible signs that indicate the presence and reality of the sacrament Minister: the person who performs the rite of the sacrament Scripturalfoundation: evidence in the New Testament of Jesus' institution of these special signs and causes of Grace Receiver: sacraments have rules for who is eligible or able to receive the sacrament based on their state in life Frequency: sacraments have rules on how frequently it can be received Effect: each sacrament has its own effect on the individual and have been given to the Church for different purposes
