What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is the sealing of the covenant created in Holy Baptism. In some denominations, Confirmation also bestows full membership in a local congregation upon the recipient

The Rite
In the Rite of Confirmation, after the gospel, the candidates are called by name; the bishop addresses the candidates in the homily. The rites that follow proceed without commentary or explanation. Everything is arranged so that the imposition of hands, with the silence that comes before, is a most powerful experience. That can happen when all attention is on the bishop and the candidates, when the silence is total, when the gesture is full and the prayer is well spoken or sung, when the “Amen” is like the great Amen at the conclusion of the eucharistic prayer. Then all should be able to see the chrism, the oil mixed with fragrant perfume and blessed by the bishop. The anointing is to make generous use of the oil, and the oil is not to be wiped off afterward; if anything, it should be rubbed in.

My sponsor was my Aunt and my Godmother. I chose her to be my Sponsor because she is one of the closest people to me in my life. She has been there for me since I was born and has played a strong and influential role in my childhood years. She is a catholic woman who loves her faith and is passionate about it. She helps me to learn and grow in my faith by showing me how much she loves being a Christian.
My Confirmation Name
My Confirmation name was Joseph. A girl picking a name of the opposite sex may seem odd to many people, but to me this name means so much. I picked my Confirmation name after my Poppi Joe. My Grandpa had a heart of gold, he was a person that was willing to help anyone at any time. He led by example and was a man of courage. He raised my mom and her siblings in the Catholic church, showing them what it meant to be a good Catholic and how to live life like Jesus would. My grandpa died when I was young but the stories I hear about him make me want to be more like him and live like Jesus would.
